EU voluntarily loses Christian values says Landsbergis

LandsbergisMonday 23 June 2008 09:32 Under the Soviet Union Lithuania was forced to undermine traditional values such as solidarity and sence of community. Europe is now giving these values out of its own free will. This says former president Vytautas Landsbergis of Lithuania in an interview. "Europe no longer fights for the foundations of its own identity", Landsbergis senses. He thinks Christian principles such as solidarity and the belief in a clear distinction between good and evil belong to the core values of Europe.
