Paulius Saudargas elected to Lithuanian Parliament

pauliusWednesday 29 October 2008 13:22 ECPYN board member Paulius Saudargas of the Lithuanian Christian Democrats was elected to the Lithuanian Parliament (Seimas). The official results including the second round run-offs came out this week. ECPYN congratulates Mr Saudargas with this fantastic result for him and his party. We hope that the good results of his party will be a boost for Christian-democratic parties in the neighbouring countries of Lithuania.

Paulius Saudargas has been actively involved with ECPM (European Christian Political Movement) and ECPYN for many years. He has been involved in organizing ECPYN summer schools and has also contributed to the ECPM Congress in 2006 as a speaker and has been the delegate of his party on other ECPM events.

"We congratulate Paulius with his election to the Seimas,"  says ECPYN Secretary General Jonathan van Tongeren: "Paulius has been one of the thriving forces of our movement and we have every bit of confidence that he will be an ambassador of this Christian political tought in the Seimas as well and  remain very involved. Of course we are sad to loose him as ECPYN board member, but we are glad to loose him to the office of MP."

ECPYN wishes Mr Saudargas God's blessings and wisdom in his work as Member of Parliament and looks forward to meeting him and his party again at future ECPM and ECPYN events.
