Esmé Wiegman

Since March 1, 2007 Esmé Wiegman-van Meppelen Scheppink (1975) is a member of the ChristianUnion group in the Lower House of Parliament of the Netherlands. Before that she has been in the town council of Zwolle on behalf of the ChristianUnion since 2002, she was the spokesperson in the following policy areas: spatial planning, housing and safety/security. She also worked as a freelance editor for several publishers and magazines.

Since she was fourteen years old Esmé Wiegman has been actively involved in politics. First within the youth organisation of the RPF (one of the predecessors of the ChristianUnion), later as a local, provincial and national board member of the ChristianUnion.
